An expert study by Euromonitor ranked the ten most popular beer brands around the world. The first two places are occupied by Chinese brands with a total share of the world market - 8.2 percent.
The most popular beer in the world is the Snow Beer brand, and the second is Tsingtao beer. The two Chinese beers each have 5.4% and 2.8% market share, respectively, of beer sales worldwide.
Although there is no such rating for the 90s, according to unofficial data, the most popular brand in the world again enjoyed a beer brand made in China - Zima.
According to researchers, these results are due to the huge number of Chinese population - 1.4 billion, who, even if they do not consume daily of the sparkling liquid, are patriots and when they decide to drink beer, they buy only from domestic production.
The popular American beers Budweizer and Bud Light reach the third and fourth place in the ranking, occupying 2.5% and 2.3% of the market share among beer consumers, respectively.
The fifth place was taken by the Brazilian brand Skol, and the sixth place was again for Chinese beer - Yanjing.
The only European brand among the top 10 of the study is the Dutch beer Heineken, which is widely available for Bulgarian beer fans. Heineken ranks seventh in the ranking with 1.5% beer sales worldwide.
The arrangement is completed by the Chinese brand Harbin, the Brazilian beer Brahma and the American Coors Light.
Although European beer participates with only one representative in the ranking, Europeans are the biggest consumers of beer, and the annual Oktoberfest has the greatest credit for this.
For quality beers on the territory of the old continent, those produced in Germany, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands are defined. The cheapest beer in the European Union is drunk in Bulgaria, and the most expensive - Norway.
The biggest fans of amber liquid are the Czechs, who drink 156 liters of it every year. According to the latest surveys, the Irish are in second place in this category with exams of 131 liters of beer per year per person in the country.
