The statement was made by a research team made up of Norwegian scientists from the University of Bregen. According to them, reducing carbohydrates - the amount consumed per day, and replacing them with products containing higher amounts of fat will reduce bad cholesterol. According to study leader Dr. Simon Dunkel, the human body works much better if its main source of energy is fat instead of sugars and carbohydrates.

The official recommendations for saturated fat intake differ from the study of Norwegian scientists. About 40 obese men took part in the study by scientists from the University of Bregen. They were divided into two groups of 20 people. Each of the groups was placed on two completely different diets.
The former had to consume products with extremely low fat levels and high carbohydrate content. Others began consuming saturated fat products. The second group had to secure 24% of its daily energy intake from oil consumption. The rest of the energy was obtained with cream, cheese and yellow cheese.
While the first group consumed standard products that are easily found in every store, the second group had to eat only unprocessed foods. Both groups ate a lot of vegetables and their intake did not exceed 2100 calories per day.
At the end of the study, participants lost an average of about 10 pounds. Those, however, are fed saturated fat, had surprisingly good health indicators. Their bad cholesterol dropped by as much as 45%. They had better blood pressure and their metabolism accelerated by 25%.
