The storage of fruits is especially important for preserving their qualities. The best storage that can preserve their vitamins and minerals as much as possible is in the refrigerator in plastic bags. They are not washed beforehand, but immediately before consumption.

This is especially true for delicate fruits such as strawberries. They are placed unwashed in a glass bowl in the refrigerator and covered with perforated foil so that they do not boil and rot. For a long time, the fruits retain their vitamins by freezing in the freezer. Their shelf life there is not more than 10 months.

The fruits can be consumed during the winter months, made of jam, juice and more. But not only. See how:

Drenki. They are often used fruit for making jams, pestles, compotes, soft drinks, as well as wine. They are considered especially useful for all colds and stomach disorders. They can also be stored and dried. For this purpose, the fruits of both wild shrubs and cultivated plants are used.

When the cornflowers are dried in the oven, the temperature should initially be around 50 degrees. It should gradually rise to 70 degrees. Weather permitting, the best drying is in a ventilated and shady place.

Thorns. The ripe fruit has a high content of glucose, sucrose, pectin and cellulose, as well as biologically active substances. The most adequate storage of thorns is fresh. The fruit is picked when fully ripe, but the fruit is still firm and covered with a bluish coating.

It is cleaned of impurities and softened fruits. The thorns are stored in a thin layer in crates, placed in a cool and ventilated room. This way they can be stored for up to a month. During this period, fermentation processes take place in the fruits, as a result of which they soften, become sweeter and their bitterness decreases.

Almonds. They can be stored for a long time due to their low water content. They do not require anything specific.

Blueberries. They have rich healing and nutritional properties, and their juice stimulates vision. To store for a long time, they must be protected from drying out. For this purpose, they are flooded with water, and when the weather cools down, the water is poured out and the fruits are left to freeze in the cold. Thus, they keep their taste and nutritional qualities intact.

Black currant. It is typical that it retains its vitamins even after prolonged storage. This is done fresh. The harvested fruits are placed in small crates of 2.5 kg, placed in a ventilated cool room at a temperature of 10-12 degrees Celsius.

So they can last up to 2-3 weeks. For longer storage, blackcurrants can be placed in the refrigerator at a temperature of 0 degrees. For this purpose it is placed in jars, which are ventilated every 4-5 days for 15-20 minutes.

Chestnut. As it is not eaten raw, chestnuts are first boiled or roasted. Thus part of the starch is hydrolyzed to sugars and they acquire a sweet taste and aroma. The fruits are used to make purees, pizza fillings, garnishes for roasted meat, as well as for cakes.

Chestnuts are stored fresh. Before storage, they are dried in a sunny and ventilated place. Then pour into large crates or barrels. Layers of dry chestnut leaves are placed between them.

The best storage temperature is 2-5 degrees. They can also be preserved unpeeled. This is done by mixing with dry sandy soil and keeping in containers in a cool and dry place. In this way they can remain intact from the weather until spring.

In general, most fruits can be stored fresh, placed in a cool place. Over time, however, they will inevitably begin to rot, depending on their species. Then they are unfit for consumption and must be discarded.
