The experts came to these conclusions after conducting a study among 113 people with an average age of 60 years, all of whom had a heart attack before the tests. The researchers found that nearly 60% of the sample were missed the first meal of the day, and more than half ate before bed. As many as 41% had both habits.

The conclusion of the experts is that for this group the risk of premature death or a second heart attack due to heart disease is 4 to 5 times higher. And more - skipping breakfast and eating late lead to recurrent heart disease only a month after leaving the hospital, where some of the subjects were treated after their first cardiovascular events.

Although the subjects are over the age of 60, doctors believe that having the first meal of the day is essential for the prevention of heart disease. This means that young people should follow a similar diet.
