Potatoes with red wine
Necessary products: 1 kg potatoes, 2-3 medium onions, 1 teaspoon water, 1 teaspoon red wine, 1 tablespoon flour, paprika, bay leaf, savory, parsley and oil
Method of preparation: Peeled and washed potatoes are cut into pieces. Fry the flour in the fat, the purpose is to acquire a brownish color. Then add the water and wine, as well as a little salt. Add all the spices and finally add the potatoes. Cover with a lid and simmer for about an hour.
Another favorite lean pot with potatoes is the casserole. We put a lot of vegetables, but it cooks a little slower. Because of all the vegetables it contains, we have to spend special time cutting. On the other hand, we can prepare baked potatoes in the oven - they do not require long preparation and we can experiment with spices. If fasting allows, we can add cheese or yellow cheese.
The problem with making potato dishes is that most recipes add fresh milk and eggs. The next two recipes are varieties of moussaka and include fresh milk and eggs. In the first recipe may not be added if you do not want:
Moussaka of onions, mushrooms and potatoes
Necessary products: 7-8 onions, 5-6 potatoes, 400 g mushrooms, tomatoes or tomato paste, black and red pepper, salt, oil
Method of preparation: Cut the onion into slices and stew it in the fat. Once it softens nicely, take it out and put the potatoes, which are also cut into slices, to fry. When you are done with them, add the fat to the pan and fry the mushrooms. Grease a pan and start arranging - potatoes, a row of onions, put the mushrooms, again a row of potatoes, etc.
It is good to add black and red pepper to each row, maybe a little salt. When you are done with the vegetables, pour in a few grated tomatoes and bake until the liquid evaporates. Optionally, make a topping of two beaten eggs and black pepper. Bake.
Our next offer is moussaka again, but this time with spinach.
Potato moussaka with spinach
Necessary products: 1 kg spinach, 6 potatoes, 3 tomatoes, salt, fat, savory, 1 tbsp flour, 1 tsp red pepper
Method of preparation: Boil the spinach, then fry in 1 tablespoon of flour and a little red pepper. The potatoes are baked in an oven, then peeled and pressed. Season the mixture with a little salt and savory and lightly fry in oil or olive oil. Then start arranging a row of spinach and a row of potatoes in a pan (pre-greased) until both products are finished.
Arrange sliced tomatoes on top, then bake the moussaka in a hot oven for no more than 20 minutes. If desired, you can add other spices. Also, if you prefer, replace spinach with dock or nettle. It will be even tastier if you use all three types.
