Terrere is a tonic South American drink. It is mostly consumed in Paraguay, Argentina, southern Bolivia and Brazil.

It is prepared from dried yerba mate leaves and spices, which are mixed with cold water or cold fruit juices.

The most common combination of yerba mate leaves is with mint. The water or juice is pre-cooled with ice. The drink is used to quench thirst, as well as to refresh in the heat.
