However, it is about bulgur that there are the most variations for the preparation of Tabbouleh salad. In different versions of the dish it can be replaced by brown rice, quinoa or couscous. If you have never prepared this salad, be sure to try bulgur first.

Choose finer and smaller because it cooks even faster and is more pleasant to eat. Whatever you have, however, the preparation tray in two ways - you need to wash it and soak for a while in hot water until it softens, or boil it briefly on the stove.

In both cases, the preparation of bulgur takes very little time. Then dry it and mix with finely chopped parsley. If you decide to try any of the bulgur substitutes already listed, prepare it according to the instructions on the package and don't forget to drain the excess water.

The third, almost always present ingredient in Tabbouleh salad, are tomatoes. You can also choose here. The original taste has an unobtrusive tomato presence. You can achieve this by cutting small cubes into two small tomatoes. In case you want to feel the taste of tomatoes more, cut four larger ones. It is good to try both variations.

In all varieties of Tabula onions are present. You can choose between fresh or onion - yellow or red. You need half a medium-sized onion or a fresh stalk.

The obligatory seasoning of the salad is achieved with olive oil, lemon juice and salt. From now on you have the choice to add various spices and additives to achieve the perfect taste according to your preferences. Very often fresh mint is added - a small bunch.

You can choose whether or not to add cedar nuts, peeled sunflower seeds, raw almonds, coriander, pieces of fresh ginger, black pepper, white pepper, the typical Arabic spice sumac and whatever else you want to try.
