Customers report that the shops in Sofia are full of eggs, which break even under the slightest pressure. Some consumers even claim that the eggs broke when they were taken out of the box.
The fragile and low-quality eggs are offered at tempting prices of 17 stotinki per piece, which is why many of the citizens of Sofia are deceived and buy them in large quantities.
The hosts are dissatisfied with the fact that the eggs break even before they are placed in the refrigerator, and when they are cooked, most of them crack.
Experts explain that the fragile eggs are the result of poor quality food that the birds ate. According to them, the hens did not absorb enough calcium, which is why they do not lay eggs with healthy shells.
Doctors remind that a quality eggshell contains elements such as copper, fluorine, manganese, molybdenum and iron.
Experts are adamant that only the food of birds determines the quality of their eggs. Eggs are best for consumption until the 28th day after laying, and it is absolutely necessary to store them at a temperature of up to 18 degrees.
Due to the growing number of low-quality food around the holidays, inspections of eggs, vegetables, Easter cakes and lamb in shops, markets and warehouses across the country continue.
The Regional Food Safety Agency in Plovdiv says that at the moment they do not have accurate data on the seized animal products.
Bulgarian farmers assure consumers that eggs will not rise in price around Easter, and their price will remain around 25 stotinki in number, regardless of category.
Due to the desire of people to buy fresh eggs, a machine was recently installed in Croatia, from which eggs can currently be bought.
The machine holds 600 eggs from hens raised on family farms.
The purpose of these machines is to help small traders in the Balkan country by ensuring the availability of their goods.
The new service is aimed only at family farms in Croatia and will offer people eggs without additional protein and antibiotics.
