The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency is launching intensified inspections of illegal trade in milk and dairy products. Specialists will travel throughout Bulgaria to find out where the unregulated places where such goods are sold are located.
The inspections to establish the illegal trade in milk and dairy products will be consistent and long-lasting, and the results will be available by the end of each week, the deputy told Radio Focus. the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency Dr. Damyan Mikov.
According to him, those involved in the illegal trade in dairy products should not be reassured at all, as they face serious fines.
The expert explained how to proceed in different cases. Dr. Mikov explained that when inspectors come across a natural person offering milk and dairy products from his car, the goods are seized by the competent authorities and destroyed properly, as it is of unclear origin and there is no labels or markings.
Such practices, in which dealers open the trunk of their car and from there serve cheese, cheese and milk, are well known to customers. However, everyone decides whether to buy such a product.
According to Dr. Mikov, when such products are found in a site not registered under the Food Act and offered there, it is also destroyed. The BFSA points out that the fine for unregulated trade in milk and dairy products can reach BGN 3,000.
The illicit trade in dairy products is risky not only for traders who may be fined by inspectors, but also for consumers of these same foods of dubious origin.

The disease is transmitted to humans after consuming milk, dairy products. For this reason, experts warn citizens to shop only from regulated retail outlets.
