Wholesale prices of fruits and vegetables have remained low in the last week, and even decreased compared to the previous seven days, according to the Market Price Index.
Since the beginning of the month, the values of wholesale food products are lower by an average of 2.9% or 1.31 points, according to data from the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets.
Greenhouse tomatoes are the cheapest product on the market. For the last week their price has decreased by 20.4% and vegetables are now sold wholesale for BGN 1.17 per kilogram.
The price of garden tomatoes is also going down, and last week a kilogram of them was sold in bulk for BGN 1.38.
In greenhouse cucumbers, the decline is 16%, which makes their new price BGN 0.84 per kilogram wholesale. Cucumbers grown in open areas are sold for BGN 1.30 per kilogram.
With the change in prices, a kilo of wholesale carrots is now sold for BGN 0.77. Cabbage has fallen in price by 14.3% and is now trading at BGN 0.42 per kilogram.
Zucchini are cheaper by 4.1% and their wholesale price is BGN 0.70 per kilogram wholesale. A kilo of green peppers is already BGN 1.60.
In the case of fruits, an increase in the values was registered only in the case of lemons, which jumped by 3.7% and are now sold for BGN 3.05 per kilogram wholesale.
The price of watermelons fell the most - by 33.3%, as the summer fruit is now traded for BGN 0.40 per kilogram wholesale. Apples are also cheaper by 0.6%, and their new wholesale price is BGN 1.55 per kilogram.
Apricots are sold cheaper - BGN 1.20 per kilogram, and peaches - BGN 1.15 per kilogram.
In the case of basic necessities, the price of minced meat has risen the most - by 3.7%, and is now sold for BGN 4.80 per kilogram. Only cow's cheese fell in price by 0.6%, which makes its wholesale price BGN 5.86.
