Diamond merchant Carl Weininger bought the most expensive dessert in the world currently on sale. The British businessman paid 22,000 pounds for a portion of chocolate pudding.

The cake is sold at a hotel in Cumbria. The record is now expected to be entered in the Guinness Book of World Records, informs Sky News.

Weininger thought he wanted to taste the most expensive dessert when he watched a TV show about him some time ago. So he decided that £ 22,000 was like dust in his bank account and he could easily take it out to pay for the pudding.

The 60-year-old diamond trader says he is not a big fan of sweets. However, he decided to buy dessert to lift his spirits. He needed it after his girlfriend dumped him.

The most expensive dessert in the world is served in a dish resembling a Faberge egg. The egg is opened and the pudding is served in it, covered with a glaze of edible gold, strawberries and champagne.

There is a 2-carat diamond on top of the cake. The dessert is the work of English confectioner Mark Gilbert. It also contains jelly champagne. According to its creator, this delicacy was inspired by Faberge eggs.

Once purchased, the cake will be able to be entered in the Guinness Book of Records.

The creators of the dessert for 22,000 pounds expect an answer from the Guinness Book of Records, which should register the delicacy as the most expensive in the world.

So far, the most expensive dessert on the planet has been considered ice cream for $ 25,000.
