Muscat is a Bulgarian grape variety obtained from the crossing of the Dimyat and Riesling varieties. Despite the close name to that of the Muscat variety, they have almost nothing in common. There are two varieties - white and red Muscat, and from both the resulting wine is white.
The most famous wines made from this variety are from the region of the Rose Valley and more precisely from the region of Karlovo. Karlovo Muscat is characterized by clarity and delicate pale green color.

Muscat wine is best combined with interesting spring salads, fish appetizers, seafood with cream sauce, semi-hard cheeses. It is best for the summer season. It does not go with heavy foods and dishes.
