With the help of economical fish dishes you will save not only money but also time, as they are prepared quite quickly and do not require special culinary skills.

The easiest way to prepare stewed fish is this dish, with which you can welcome even guests. One kilogram of frozen fish is needed - for example mackerel, 6 medium-sized potatoes, 1 carrot, 1 onion, 2 bay leaves, salt and pepper - to taste.

The fish is thawed, washed, cleaned, cut into large pieces. Peel the potatoes and cut them into large cubes, grate the carrots on a large grater, cut the onion into semicircles.

Place the potatoes and carrots in a thick-walled saucepan and cover with water so that it completely covers the vegetables.

After boiling, reduce the heat, cook the vegetables for another five minutes, add the onion, bay leaf and fish. Simmer everything for 15 minutes on low heat, periodically removing the foam. Salt and season with black pepper.

Fish casserole with potatoes is also an economical and quick dish. You need half a kilo of fish of your choice, which is cleaned and cut into strips.

Place thin pieces of bacon on the bottom of the pan. Potatoes cut into thin circles are arranged on them. Arrange the fish strips on top of the potatoes.

Another row of potatoes follows. Pour a mixture of 200 milliliters of fresh milk and one egg, add a little flour to thicken. You can add finely chopped onions.

Sprinkle the casserole with grated yellow cheese and bake until golden. Serve sprinkled with finely chopped parsley or dill.

Spruce meatballs are economical and original. You need one can of sprat, 8 potatoes, 1 cup of rice, 1 onion, 2 eggs, pepper and salt - to taste.

The potatoes are boiled and peeled. The rice is boiled and after cooling, mashed together with the potatoes. The canned sprat is mashed with a fork, mixed with rice and potatoes, eggs, salt, pepper, canned fat and, if necessary, thickened flour are added.

Knead everything very well, make meatballs, roll in flour or breadcrumbs and fry until golden.
