The Annunciation is allowed to eat fish, even though they are fasting. This is a holiday that is considered one of the Christian sacraments.
The feast is called the Annunciation, because then the Virgin Mary understood the good news that she would give birth to the Son of God.
Baked fish is prepared at the Annunciation, but you can diversify the menu for the holiday with a fish roll with shrimp rolls. The taste of this roll is like stuffed fish.
Necessary products: 500 grams of trout or mackerel fillet, 6 rolls of crab, 100 grams of crustless bread, salt and pepper to taste, 1 small onion, 3 tablespoons finely chopped parsley or dill.
Method of preparation: The fish is cut into pieces, the onion is peeled and cut. The bread is soaked in warm water and drained. Grind together with onions and fish and add the spices. If the minced meat obtained in this way is too thick, dilute it with a little warm water. Everything is mixed very well.
A layer of half of the minced fish in the form of a rectangle is distributed on a household transparent foil. In the middle, the shrimp rolls are arranged next to each other lengthwise. Cover the top with the rest of the minced meat and form a roll with the help of the foil. You can form two smaller rolls.
The roll is placed in a freezer bag and tied well. Put in a saucepan and pour water so that it covers the envelope. The roll is boiled on low heat for about an hour.
It is taken out of the water very carefully so that it does not break. But even if this happens, it is fixable - the roll just needs to be tightly tightened with aluminum foil. Once the roll has cooled completely, remove the envelope. For beauty, the fish roll can be sprinkled with chopped green spices and cut into pieces.
The fish with a crispy crust is also suitable for the Annunciation table.
Necessary products: 500 grams of white fish fillet, 1 lemon, 3 tablespoons oil, 7 cloves garlic, 100 grams of cashews, 2 red peppers, 1 pinch of ginger, 1 tablespoon cumin.
Method of preparation: One tablespoon of oil mixed with the juice of half a lemon and 2 crushed garlic cloves. Rub the fish fillet with this mixture, season with salt and pepper and leave for half an hour.
Crush the cashews, add the garlic and ginger, the rest of the lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of oil. Everything is mixed. Soak the fish with a towel, put it in a fireproof dish, spread the mixture with the cashews on top and bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
On the table of today's holiday you must put the Pie for the Annunciation, Soda bread, Rural goods pie or Pie with honey. Try more Fish with merudia, Lapad with bulgur in the oven and Halva from semolina.
