Everyone has at least once been left with steaks already cooked, especially after a holiday. Especially today, it is almost a crime to throw away the rest of the food. So give her a new life.
No matter how juicy and well-cooked they are, the steaks dry out. Even if they are small, with the use of other products you can prepare new dishes that are enough for the whole family.
Here are some ideas:
1. Sliced steaks can be added to bean stew, pea stew, green beans with potatoes, rice, sauerkraut or fresh cabbage. Ten minutes before the dishes are ready, add the sliced steaks to turn the dish and absorb its aroma;
2. Place the sliced steaks to simmer for 7 to 10 minutes in the following sauces:
- Boil grated tomatoes or from a jar, add black pepper, garlic, bay leaf, grated carrot, salt;
- add to Béchamel sauce, Fricassee sauce, mushroom sauce or sauce made from melted cheese, liquid cream and black pepper. Cream can be replaced with fresh milk and a little toasted flour;
3. In a non-stick pan, stew grated carrots and finely chopped onions, add sliced steaks, pour sour cream diluted with water, salt to taste, black pepper and stew under a lid for a few minutes. low heat. They must be stirred so as not to burn. Instead of a pan, they can be baked in the oven. Make a garnish of stewed vegetables or mashed potatoes. In fact, most sauces can be used in this case, as long as they are not sweet;
4. The remaining steaks are ground, if they have bone or skin, they are removed. Finely chop the onion and a few cloves of garlic and fry in oil. In a pan fry a few tablespoons of flour and, stirring constantly, add warm warm milk to obtain a fairly thick sauce. Add to it a little lemon juice, pepper, salt. Allow the sauce to cool. Mix the ground steaks, stewed onions and garlic, cold sauce, grated yellow cheese, 1 egg, finely chopped parsley. The mixture is mixed well and placed in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Then small kebabs or meatballs are formed from it. Before frying in very hot oil, dip first in flour, then in beaten egg and finally in breadcrumbs. Serve with mayonnaise sauce and yogurt, which is flavored with garlic and pepper;
5. The remaining whole or pieces of steak can be used after being very finely chopped and replacing the fresh meat or minced meat in the stuffing for cabbage with cabbage or vine leaves;
6. Minced meat in moussaka can also be replaced with finely chopped steaks. Stir in yogurt, eggs, salt and flour and pour the moussaka. Bake in the oven.
For variety, you can prepare a pie with moussaka from other steaks. Stuffing is placed between the ground crusts - it should not be too watery, which is spread evenly on them. When the last sheet is finished, the pie is cut and the moussaka filling is poured on it, and it is good that it enters between the cuts. Bake in a preheated oven.
7. Boil potatoes, peel and cut into circles. In a greased pan, arrange a row of potatoes, a row of sliced remaining steaks, pour a little tomato paste - flavored and homemade, and continue the alternation of products. It ends with the potatoes. Pour over beaten egg, milk, flour and yellow cheese. Bake in the oven.
8. Sandwiches with other steaks can also be made. Stew a few peeled and sliced mushrooms, onions not very finely and stew in oil, salt, pepper, maybe hot pepper and a little white wine. Pieces of bacon, ham or sausage are added to them. Stew until the wine springs. Spread the mixture on the slices of bread, put a piece of melted cheese or yellow cheese on top and bake in the oven until the cheese or yellow cheese melts.
9. The steaks split in width to make them thinner. Even if only pieces of them remain, they are cut into thin slices. Slices of toaster bread are spread on the inside with very little butter or margarine. Place thin slices of melted cheese, thin slices of tomato, thinly sliced steaks, followed by tomato, cheese or yellow cheese. Bake in a sandwich toaster.
Enjoy!
