Fasting is more than stopping the consumption of meat and dairy products. This is a way to cleanse your body and soul, at least according to religion. The purpose of fasting is to cleanse ourselves of bad thoughts, to purify our body, not to be just consumers, to look inside ourselves.

Fasting is associated with humility, with silence and gratitude, with pure and wise hearts. Why limit yourself to meat if you are rude and proud? Or to stop eating dairy products and continue to deny something and malice will eat you from within. Not eating dairy products is actually the smallest part of fasting. The goal is to feel humility, fasting includes a restriction of all kinds of goods, not just food.

All pleasures are forbidden, and food is only part of it all. Fasting, in short, is the deprivation of the physical in order to achieve elevation in the spiritual. Deprivation of all kinds of pleasures shows us that life can be as it is without indulging in everything. This is on the part of religion.

The post, from another point of view, is a matter of personal choice - do it if you feel it. On the health side, you could try it for at least a few days - it helps your body get rid of what it has accumulated.

Fasting is associated with the avoidance of alcohol, carnal pleasures. In their time, we need to be better, to treat each other with more respect. And what is the personal reason for each of us to do so - it's not so important. Everyone's incentive can be different.

Some people do it just to cleanse their body of toxins and excess fat, they do not include as much meaning in their fasting as religion itself does. In fact, no matter why you do it, it's a great way to help your body get rid of excess.

Christmas fasts are much more difficult to perform than those before Easter.

During the winter it is harder to comply with what we eat, we are lazier, we need more and stronger food.

But the meaning of Christian fasting is different, let's go back to the meaning of religion. Because to gain weight from malice and envy, to gain weight from greed and desire to have everything you don't have, from ambition is much worse than to gain weight from food.

Fasting can help, that's its purpose. To eliminate the thoughts of "more" and "most", to stop hating and denying. In fact, let's not just be "I want" and "give", let's start being "command" and "do you want".

Whether you choose to fast or not, try to fulfill at least that part of the message of the whole Christian fast - to be better to one another, to show more understanding, to be more humble. And not just on holidays, but all year round.
