People who want to prepare a traditional Easter meal for the upcoming Christian holiday will have to pay at least 80 leva, half of which will be spent on lamb.

Between BGN 32 and 40 will cost nearly 3 kilograms of lamb for a family of 4, according to an inspection by the Monitor newspaper. The garnish for the meat will cost between 7-8 levs, if it is prepared from rice, trifles, spices.

Most Bulgarians will paint a shell of 30 eggs for Easter. Along with the paints, the obligatory painted eggs for the table will cost the Bulgarian household between 8 and 10 levs.

Parents with young children will have to spend even more if they decide to buy chocolate eggs and chocolate rabbits for the kids.

Two Easter cakes will cost you an average of 10 leva, but if you decide to buy better quality and home-made Easter bread, you will have to spend a larger amount.

For Easter, a spring salad of lettuce, cucumbers, radishes and green onions is traditionally prepared. Depending on the amount prepared, the hosts will have to pay about 5 leva for it.

Shortly before the holiday, proposals for pre-cooked lamb appeared in the online space to make it easier for the hosts in our country. Whole lamb is offered for BGN 300, prepared according to Italian technology and baked in a classic oven.

A kilo of lamb together with a garnish of lettuce is available for BGN 19.50. If you want to cook the meat yourself, it will cost you at least 10 leva per kilogram and up to 19 leva for the same amount.

In recent years, various websites have appeared in Bulgaria, in which small farmers offer their products directly to their customers, avoiding intermediaries from retail chains.

Directly from the Bulgarian producers the lamb will cost you between 7 and 10 levs per kilogram.
