Bulgarian households will spend at least BGN 50 to celebrate Easter with the traditional holiday table. The lamb is expected to rise as it approaches April 16, but the eggs will remain at the old values.
Preparing for Easter it has already started and consumers are already massively looking for the products needed to celebrate the Christian holiday.
The lamb will have to spend the most money this year. The retail price of a leg of lamb per kilogram will rise from BGN 13.30 to BGN 15, BNT reports.
From the farm to the store, the price of a leg of lamb will triple. If you are looking for cheaper meat for the holiday, it is best to buy it directly from producers who sell it at prices between BGN 4.50 and 4.80 per kilogram of live weight.
The farmer Georgi Stoimenov from the village of Logodazh in Blagoevgrad says that he sells his lambs at a price of BGN 6 per kilogram of live weight and still thinks that the price is insultingly low.
If we say to do the calculation with a pencil, it doesn't come out and it doesn't come out. There is no money, it seems expensive to everyone, and even at 6 leva the bill does not come out. But I don't care, because this morning I talked to my colleagues, if you care - you have to give up, Stoimenov commented.
The good Easter cake will not cost less than BGN 10 this year either, but it will be available in stores at prices between BGN 4-5. Experts advise not to buy Easter cakes, which are offered for 2 levs, as they are not of sufficient quality.
