Blueberries are delicious summer fruits that are best used in raw form, added to yogurt or salad, as well as fruit fillings. Unfortunately, if blueberries are not stored properly, they will swell quickly, become soft, or even mold will appear.

How to properly store blueberries in the refrigerator and freezer?

Pre-remove the rotten fruit, leaving only the quality. Discard fruits that have white mold on them. Mold forms mainly around the stem of the bilberry.

Also discard fruits that have become too soft. Such fruits are already predisposed and will spoil too quickly.

If you move the fruit, separate the bad from the good, thus preventing the spread of mold.

Remove the handles. Most often, the stalks fall off on their own, but if you eat blueberries with stalks they can leave a bitter taste in your mouth.

Rinse the fruit with a solution of vinegar and water in a ratio of 1: 3 (for one part vinegar, take 3 parts water. The vinegar solution will destroy the spores of the fungus and will not allow mold to grow quickly.

Put the fruit in a sieve or strainer, dip them in a bowl with vinegar solution. Shake the sieve, then remove it from the solution. Rinse the fruit with lukewarm water to remove the taste and smell of vinegar.

Get a container as a basket and wash it well. You can take a ceramic bowl with slits or holes or use a plastic container in which the blueberries are sold.

There should be small holes in the container so that the fruit is well ventilated. Do not use metal containers. Blueberries react with the metal.
