How many times a day should be eaten and how best to distribute meals during the day?

This question cannot be answered unequivocally due to the fact that each body is different and age is also important.

It is believed that a person should eat 5 times a day. There are 3 main meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as extra before lunch and afternoon tea.

In practice, maintaining regular meals is quite difficult. This is determined by various factors - work, commitments, meetings, whose schedule often contradicts the scheduled meal.

However, every effort should be made to avoid skipping main meals and not allowing long intervals between meals.

Therefore, between main meals, you should eat before lunch and drink afternoon tea with a snack.

After a long break without food, the body feels hungry and after overeating can easily accumulate fat, which is not recommended.

The body's biological clock

There is a biological clock in every person's body. It is he who decides how long it takes to perform vital functions such as work, rest and sleep.

It can be assumed that the day is divided into two stages:

• working capacity about 16 hours;

• rest / sleep / about 8 hours.

The biological clock also controls feeding time.

Breakfast - main food

Breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day. In the morning, the body needs energy the most. Glucose also needs to be delivered to the brain. Breakfast should be rich in carbohydrates, but without simple sugars. A well-balanced breakfast should consist of products high in protein, vegetables and fruits.

For example, muesli with fruit, soft-boiled egg with vegetables, cottage cheese with the addition of chives, scrambled eggs with vegetables and tea.

Lunch
Lunch

Breakfast should be as soon as possible after waking up, ie. between 6-7.30 p.m.

The second breakfast shortens the time between breakfast and lunch and it makes the body not feel hungry. It consists of fruits and vegetables in the form of salads with yogurt or kefir. This is the time between 10-11 o'clock.

Lunch is just as important because in the middle of the day, the body needs a new energy charge. It will give strength and energy for the second part of the day.

To provide the body with the necessary energy and still not overeat, lunch should consist of not very thick soup, meat or fish and vegetables. This is the time between 13 and 14 hours.

Afternoon tea or breakfast is consumed between 16 and 17 hours. Fruits and dairy products can be consumed here, but in reasonable quantities.

The last meal of the day is dinner and it is just as important as the other meals, as there is a long break for sleep.

At dinner you can eat light meat or fish, dairy products, eggs, wholemeal bread, as well as fruits and vegetables.

It is very important not to overeat! This can cause difficulty falling asleep and insomnia. So dinner should not be too plentiful and should be easy to process from the stomach. It must take place no later than 20 hours.
