To prepare this type of olive oil at home you need a glass bottle, olive oil, basil, you can also put garlic. First, let's clarify that basil can be fresh or dried - whatever you have, and garlic is optional. If you are not a fan, leave only basil. At the bottom of the bottle put the dried basil or chop the fresh one, add 3-4 cloves of garlic on top, best cut into several pieces or pressed. The next step is to refill the bottle with olive oil - 300 - 400 ml. close the bottle well and leave it for 10-12 days in a dark and cool place, after which your basil-scented olive oil is ready.
Olive oil with rosemary aroma
Here again you will need a glass bottle, dry or fresh rosemary, olive oil and black pepper. The technology is the same - you add rosemary, if it is fresh let it be only one stalk torn into pieces, put a dozen grains of black pepper on top and pour olive oil. After 10 days the aromatic oil is ready. Here you can also add 1-2 cloves of garlic.
It is important to specify that once both types of olive oil are ready, you must strain them and put them in clean bottles without spices in them. Otherwise, it is very likely that the taste of olive oil will change and become even bitter from the spices.
Olive oil with basil and that with rosemary are suitable for topping various types of vegetables (eg grilled), as well as for meat. If you used fresh spices, the aroma will be much stronger. You can always try new options - put bay leaf, thyme, oregano and more.
Olive oil with a spicy taste
To make this olive oil you need in addition to the already known bottle and olive oil, the following spices - hot peppers, 3 cloves garlic, a few grains of black pepper. If you have small red peppers that are very hot, put 2 pcs. And if you have large peppers - cut one into several pieces and put in the bottle, add the crushed garlic, black pepper and leave again for ten days in the dark.
You can add various aromatic spices to this olive oil - the above-mentioned olive oil with basil or rosemary can also be made spicy.
