The preparation of fondant it has always bothered most housewives and they are often in a hurry to buy a ready-made mixture from the shops. This is also a good option, but everyone knows that there is nothing better than homemade glazes. Before we learn how to quickly and easily prepare fondant at home, let's first clarify what it is.

Fondant is a type of sugar glaze that is prepared from sugar and water by boiling. There are a variety of recipes in which you can add glucose, flavors such as vanilla and others, even gelatin, but the classic proportions between water and sugar should always be observed.

The other thing that is important to know is that the fondant it is not very durable and is used immediately after its preparation. This means that you must first make the cake, cake, candies or any other pastries you have in mind, then make the fondant and immediately use it for icing.

Here are two easy options for making fondant.

Variant 1

Necessary products: 500 g sugar, 250 ml water, 1 tsp. glucose.

Method of preparation: Mix the water and sugar in a suitable bowl and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. You should get such a thick syrup that if you drop some of it in cold water, it should look like a ball. While boiling the syrup, remove the foam that forms, and after it thickens enough, add the glucose. The glaze prepared in this way is ready for use.

Variant 2

Necessary products: 500 g sugar, 250 ml water, 1 packet vanilla

Method of preparation: Like the above recipe, make a thick syrup from the water and sugar, then add the vanilla. It should become a white homogeneous mixture.

No matter which recipe you choose, keep in mind that the fondant can be colored in different colors if you have purchased confectionery paint in advance. If you want it to be chocolate, for example, it is enough to just melt a little chocolate and add it to it, and to make it dark brown, add 1-2 drops of cooler.
