It's Easier To Get Into Harvard Than It Is To Get Into McDonald's

Unbelievable, but it is a fact that it is much easier to be accepted at Harvard, which is considered to be the most prestigious university in the world, than at McDonald's University of Hamburgers.

The training at the unusual university lasts only one week, but still only one percent of the students admitted to study there manage to get diplomas.

The program is so complex and the reception is so precise that statistics show that entering Harvard or Yale is 35 percent more likely, Business Insider writes.

Hamburger University currently has seven branches worldwide - in Oak Brook, Illinois, Tokyo, London, Sydney, Munich, Sao Paulo and Shanghai. It is planned to open the eighth in Moscow a little later this year.

The first university was opened in the American city of Illinois. In its building there are 17 training halls, 3 kitchen laboratories, a hall with 300 seats and 8 rooms for interactive team training. There is also a McDonald's History Museum called Heritage Hall, which houses items from the gold archives that tell the company's history from its inception to the present day.

The little-known university already has a rich history. It was established in 1961 and for these nearly 55 years more than 275 thousand cadets have passed through its halls.

The beginning, of course, was more than difficult. The first graduating class of the University of Hamburgers consisted of only 14 students. Nowadays, each branch accepts two thousand graduates, and more than three thousand people are fighting for one place. In 2014 alone, the school completed more than 60 courses with diplomas in restaurant management.

Many of the graduates hope to take leadership positions at McDonald's. In fact, 40 percent of senior managers have graduated from Hamburger University.

The university has 16 full-time faculty members in the United States who can teach in 28 languages.

Despite its name, it is aimed at developing students' leadership skills, achieving business growth and focusing on service, quality and cleanliness. During the training, fake customers test their student service skills with longer and more complex orders.
