One of the most famous South American cakes is Hummingbird, which translates as "hummingbird". The cake is named after the smallest birds because it includes some of their favorite fruits.

The cake became especially popular in the 1970s, but its recipe was created much earlier. As it is very sweet, the cake is served in very small pieces.

The cake is very easy to make and requires only two bowls to mix the dry and wet ingredients and a separate bowl for frosting. The cake is stored for several days in the refrigerator.

For the dough you need 1 teaspoon of finely chopped walnuts in a dry pan, 2 cups flour, 2 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon baking soda, half a teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 3 large beaten eggs, ¾ cup oil, 2 vanilla, 240 g finely chopped canned pineapple, 4 mashed bananas.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Prepare two round trays with a diameter of about 22 centimeters. Grease with oil and sprinkle with flour or line with baking paper.

Mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. In another bowl, mix the eggs, butter, vanilla, mashed bananas and pineapples, and add the walnuts.

Mix all ingredients, distribute in both pans and bake for half an hour. Check with a toothpick if the dough is ready. Allow the countertops to cool in the pans.

To make frosting - a special cake cream, you need ¼ a glass of butter, 250 g of cream cheese, 3 ½ cups of powdered sugar, 1 vanilla, half a cup of crushed walnuts.

Beat the butter and cream cheese at a slow speed with a mixer until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating constantly.

Add the vanilla. Add the walnuts and stir once more. Spread this cream between the tops and then spread the whole cake with it.
