Bray (Tamus Communis) is a herbaceous creeping plant that has a busty and fleshy rhizome up to 30 cm long and 5-10 cm wide. On the surface the rhizome has a thick brown cork layer. The stems of bray are up to 3-4 meters long, and its leaves have long stalks with a deep heart-shaped base, pointed at the top, entire, dark green and shiny on top. Bray is also known as brech, vodon, dalalan and blush.
The colors of bray they have a pale greenish color, are unisexual and are gathered in racemes, which are located at the base of the upper stem leaves. The fruit of bray is juicy, bright red and strawberry, with 4-5 seeds. Although the fruit resembles a globular strawberry, it is highly poisonous and should never be consumed because it can cause fatal poisoning. It blooms in May-July.
The herb bray is distributed in forests and bushes in the warmer parts of Bulgaria, up to 1000 meters above sea level. The usable part of the bray is the rhizome, which is dug in the early spring or autumn months.

Collection and storage of bray

Folk medicine with bray
