People in developed countries consume too much meat. It is present in almost every meal during the day in a different form. However, this diet has its effects on both personal health and global processes such as climate change.

A lot of people are increasingly paying attention to these facts and trying to reduce meat consumption. Last year, a campaign was conducted in New York State to practice meatless Monday. Thus, one day a week, 320 families employed in the campaign are obliged to avoid meat.

The project covers a period of 3 months, and the participants were observed at the beginning and end of the experiment. The results are interesting for observers, as well as for all people who want to limit meat foods in their daily diet.

Half a year after the end of the campaign, half of the participants say that they already consume less meat than before joining the initiative. An even higher percentage of them say it didn't bother them the refusal of meat.

In fact, the participants in the survey were more troubled by the preferences of their relatives and friends for meat foods or their eating habits than by the commitment they made.

At the beginning of the campaign, the participants indicated as their main motive to include care for their health, and after the end of the campaign significantly increased the number of those who thought it was good for the environment, reducing energy consumption, conserving energy. natural water sources and other environmental reasons.

The results of the study were provided to the American Public Health Association. They show unequivocally that the reduction or rejection of meat food corresponds directly to the interest in environmental issues.

The less meat we eat, the more everyone's natural concern for the state of the environment they inhabit and for the global ecological environment of which we are all part will increase. Undoubtedly, creating a balance in nutrition is a prerequisite for being more responsible not only to ourselves and our loved ones, but also to the world in which we live.
