A strict potato diet has been taken by a determined Australian. Andrew Taylor, 36, vowed in 2016 to eat only potatoes to end his indiscriminate diet, to blame for his overweight, according to Western media.

The young man lives in Melbourne. Until recently, he ate extremely unhealthily, which is why his weight reached an alarming 151 kilograms. This had a significant effect on Andrew's self-esteem, and he decided to take matters into his own hands and finally change the way he looked and felt.

The man has developed a potato diet and plans to adhere to it until the end of this calendar year. The potatoes he eats can be boiled or baked. It is important to note, however, that no oil is added to the dishes.

Andrew ate his first potato dish on January 1 this year and to this day still strictly adheres to his new eating habits. Thanks to them, he managed to lose as much as 10 kilograms without much physical effort.

The young Australian documented his unusual experiment in videos he shared on social networks. So he hopes to be useful to other people.

At the request of a specialist, Andrew has included sweet potatoes in his diet. He could choose between root vegetables and bananas, but he preferred potatoes because of their lower price and because they saturate more.

Until recently, I couldn't stop eating. If you are addicted to something and it kills you, it is best to stop it. That's why I decided to exclude all other foods from my daily menu and leave only the potatoes, Taylor explains.

He claims that the potatoes are still delicious and he is feeling well. The enthusiast says that he does not season his potato dishes with oil, but flavor them with plant-based milk and some spices.

Despite the positive results, however, not all nutritionists agree with the young man's diet. According to experts, Andrew has a great chance in the future to develop a deficiency of important vitamins and minerals, which can be obtained only with a varied and complete diet.
