Apart from the change in the preferences of the Bulgarians, Agra Europe announces that this autumn a new system for calculating the duties of imported tomatoes will be launched, the aim of which is to be more objective, transparent and fair.

The calculation program is part of the European Union's campaign to change the rules for importing and exporting vegetables, which is due to start on 1 October.

The changes that will be introduced in the market governance rules will respond to the concerns of some EU fruit and vegetable producers and will make tax collection by importers more transparent and objective.

The European Commission notes that the entry prices of fruits and vegetables will comply with customs regulations.

This will mean that from 1 October, the current system for the standard value of tomato imports will be renewed and aligned with the new reforms.
