Bulgaria topped the British ranking for the cheapest beer. The country leads us in the beer index compiled for British tourists.
The ranking is the work of Travelex - a company specializing in currency exchange and international monetary transactions. The company tracked how the price of beer varies in 32 of the countries most visited by the British.
The authors of the ranking are categorical - Bulgaria is the most attractive for lovers of cheap beer from the island. The price of beer here is an average of 0.97 pounds or 2 levs for 0.5 liters of draft beer. It is 3.5 times cheaper than in their homeland. At the other end of the list - with the most expensive beer, is the United Arab Emirates. There, a pint of beer is the most expensive - about 9 pounds or 2.5 times more expensive than in the UK.
