During the last import of fruits and vegetables have registered a serious decline in values. Imported peaches and watermelons are twice as cheap as those produced in Bulgaria.
The data of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets show that imported peaches are offered for BGN 0.36 per kilogram, and those produced in Bulgaria or another EU member state - for BGN 0.75 per kilogram wholesale.
Imported watermelons are also twice cheaper than our production. Wholesale imported watermelons are offered for BGN 0.16 per kilogram, and the others - for BGN 0.32 per kilogram.
In one week, both watermelons and peaches registered a serious decline.
Experts explain this difference by export subsidies.
A decrease in the last week was also reported for plums, whose price dropped from BGN 1.20 per kilogram to BGN 0.90 per kilogram.
In the case of melons, there is also a difference between imported and other fruits sold wholesale. For the last week the imported melons were sold for BGN 0.65 per kilogram, and the others - for BGN 0.75 per kilogram.
The price of grapes has also fallen - from BGN 2.60 per kilogram to BGN 2.20.
On the other hand, apricots registered a serious jump, the price of which rose from BGN 1.53 per kilogram to BGN 2.30 per kilogram wholesale.
Apples are also more expensive. In one week they have increased their values from BGN 1.32 per kilogram to BGN 1.80.
The cherries have kept their wholesale prices of BGN 4 per kilogram.
There is a slight decrease in oranges and grapefruits, which are offered for BGN 0.80 per kilogram and BGN 1.72 per kilogram, respectively.
There is also a difference in the prices of imported greenhouse tomatoes, which are offered for BGN 0.60 per kilogram, compared to those produced in our country - BGN 1.53 per kilogram wholesale.
On the other hand, cucumbers rose sharply - from 0.76 levs per kilogram to 1.62 levs. The kilo of gherkins also jumped by BGN 0.20 for the last week.
The price of fresh potatoes remains stable - 0.52 levs per kilogram. The red peppers have also kept their values from last week - BGN 2.15 per kilogram.
In contrast, salads have risen in price by BGN 0.20 per piece.
