Chinese Internet company Baidu has developed smart chopsticks to alert people to the safety of the food they eat.

The company has developed high-tech sensors in the form of ordinary cutlery. When the chopsticks are immersed in a dish, special sensors in them will analyze the temperature and composition of the stuffing, while at the same time the full information about the dish appears on the smartphone display.

Through the chopsticks a person will be able to find out whether the oil with which the dish is fried is harmful or not. If there is the slightest danger, a red light will light up at the top of the stick.

Smart sticks have not yet been released on the market, as only a few prototypes have been built by Baidu. But the invention was widely welcomed on Chinese social networks

The inventors of the chopsticks say they are introducing new cutlery because of the numerous cases of people being poisoned by poor quality food in China.

The main thing the Chinese complain about is the poor quality oil used in China. Often the oil is prepared from waste products, which explains its quality.

Many restaurateurs in China prepare the oil from goods they buy from street vendors. These goods are of unclear origin, but their appearance deceives consumers.

Because of this practice, last year the authorities organized a big campaign in which they chased the low-quality oil in the country. As part of this campaign, 20 people were arrested for distributing low-quality oil.

In the courtroom, two people were even sentenced to life imprisonment under the scheme for selling the illegal oil.

The authorities in Bulgaria, on the other hand, reassure that there are no signals of poor quality oil in our markets. Border checkpoints in the country strictly monitor all goods entering the country.

Inspections are also performed by the employees of the Fiscal Control Directorate of the National Revenue Agency.
