On June 5 is noted World Environment Day, so let's talk more about this huge issue, which, along with global warming, needs to be discussed constantly.
In the recent past, our parents bought soft drinks and beer only in glass bottles, yogurt - from glass jars, halva, jam and cheese in special paper, environmentally friendly and recyclable. And the bread and the fruit were in caskets. There were metal boxes of some products that were thrown away.
Our parents had a special bag for everything. They always went to the store with a bag, as well as the appropriate number of bottles and jars.
Today, however, it is much easier for all of them to go to the store empty-handed and from there buy the much-needed plastic bag. In addition, in the store almost all products are in nylon or plastic packaging, adding the reinsurance - not to break and get dirty, for something small we use a bunch of unnecessary packaging.
Is it possible to stop this practice that is so harmful to the planet? Yes, with extra effort on our part, as the imposed procedures are easy and convenient, but as we all see, too harmful to the environment and for ourselves.
How can we reduce pollution
- Going back to shopping habits of our parents and we use reusable bags;
- By shopping from small shops where the goods are in bulk and we can use our own reusable packaging suitable for the product. Let's think, if we go back to glass bottles, how many brands of soft drinks and beers offer an option to replace empty for full;
- For many of the products the markets are an option - with a big one shopping bag can be collected in one all the fruits and vegetables you need, why are they separate bagswhen we put them in the fridge without bags at home anyway;
- It is difficult to exclude cakes, even each waffle is in its own plastic package. To avoid excessive use of packaging, we can take a one-time larger box of cakes that are not individually packaged; or when we have time; to prepare homemade treats;
Build habits, identify places you can take from products with recyclable packaging, label your products with recyclable packaging and use them primarily. Take the time to take a close look at the store where you mainly shop, and pay attention to the products with eco-friendly packaging, remember them, focus mainly on them.
Let's make a simple calculation - if we avoid using at least two unnecessary packages every day… and if more people do it… we can help to leave the planet is clean for our children, we can teach our children to follow our example and shop properly.
We can change the strategy of manufacturers and force them not to use non-degradable packaging.
We believe that change comes from everyone, we believe in you!
