The McDonald's chain announces that they plan to reduce the number of menus offered, as well as to reduce the products and ingredients contained in them. Reuters informed us about this idea of the food chain.

These changes will start first in the United States, and their main goal is for people to be served faster and to decide for themselves what they want to have in the menus they order. McDonald's is convinced that such a change will bring them much more sales and therefore more revenue.

Mike Andres, who is the company's president for the United States, said that from the beginning of January the menus will be eight products less, and Extra Value offers will decrease by five.

Since October 2013, the largest fast food chain in the world has not reported growth in sales, the information states.

The hopes of the McDonald's management are that with these changes people will trust their chain more - they will be able to attract customers who are looking for healthier and simpler offers.

Among the goals set by the fast food chain is to be able to enter the field of other chains such as Subway. Mike Andres is convinced that you don't need big menus to have variety in a restaurant.

He confirms that this is just the beginning of the changes that will take place at McDonald's. The new policy has already been tested in several establishments of the chain, which are located in Tennessee and California. The Create Your Taste program is also expected to begin.

It will be distributed in at least 2,000 of the more than 14,000 McDonald's outlets in the United States. This should happen by the end of 2015, and CEO Don Thompson is convinced that it will be completely successful.

A few years ago, such an initiative was quickly discontinued because it did not show the necessary results. Another part of the chain's strategy is to be able to order via mobile phone.

The ambitions of the world's largest fast food chain are to be able to bring back young consumers and mothers - for this purpose, the company has decided to start offering healthy and unprocessed foods.

Andres believes that since the products in their restaurants do not stay for a long time, it is completely unnecessary to use a lot of preservatives.

Shares of McDonald's have fallen 1.5 percent in recent days to $ 90 per share, and in the last year the market capitalization has shrunk by about 2.3 percent to just over $ 87.5 trillion.

The chain has decided to start another campaign - "Our food, your questions". It will focus on refuting negative opinions on food quality.
