Antibiotic-free chicken and hormone-free cow's milk are part of the new restrictions that the fast food chain McDonald's will introduce in its food products.

The news was announced by the head of the company's advertising department Scott Taylor, who added that the change will take place gradually over the next 2 years.

The management says that they will remove chicken meat with antibiotics from their menus, but only that meat that has been treated with drugs intended for humans and not for animals.

The ban will be introduced on the recommendation of US health experts, who have found that taking antibiotics with meat makes the human body resistant to drugs.

According to experts, when we regularly consume chicken, beef or pork, which is treated with antibiotics intended for humans, our treatment with the same drugs will then be ineffective.

McDonald's also said it would limit the milk of cows that took hormones with their food. The fast food chain is forced to introduce similar reforms, as in 2014 it reported a decline in sales by 4.6%.

As their restaurants work according to the franchise strategy, the introduced changes will also apply to McDonald's sites in Bulgaria. In the United States alone, there are 14,000 fast food restaurants.

The restaurants with this brand in the world for a little over 36,000 and daily serve 70 million people in 100 countries.

In Russia, however, a real revolt is taking place against the food offered at McDonald's. The country insists that the American chain work with typical Russian products and include traditional Russian dishes in its menus if they want to remain on the market in Russia.

There is one condition for their existence on our market - this is work with our raw materials, as well as fundamental changes in the culture of nutrition - said Gennady Onishchenko, who is a former chief sanitary doctor.

Another iconic American brand Coca-Cola was called for a change in terms of the ingredients used, RIA Novosti reports.
