The authorities in Costa Rica have decided to make corn part of the country's cultural heritage. According to President Guillermo Solis, growing corn is a livelihood that the ancestors bequeathed, and the government must approve the covenant.

The presidential decree will be published soon, writes the local newspaper DiarioExtra. In addition to corn, Costa Rica has as its cultural heritage the cultivation of the plant, the way it can be prepared, the color of the cob, the taste of the plant.

Archaeological excavations show that the cultivation of corn was practiced by the ancient inhabitants who inhabited the territory of present-day Costa Rica. It is believed that the plant has been grown in these lands since 3000 BC.

One of the main activities in Costa Rica is the production of corn - the products obtained from the plant invariably participate in the daily diet of the locals.

Corn is used to prepare various dishes that are typical of Latin American cuisine. In addition, the plant is often used as fodder. Last but not least, it can be used to make beer.

A recent study notes that Costa Ricans are the happiest people in the world. These results are from a report examining good education, economic development and life expectancy in different countries.

Costa Rica tops the list not only because of its natural beauty, but also because of the fact that the people who live there are happy with their lifestyle. The average life expectancy is more than 79 years. In addition, stress-related illnesses are very rare among locals.

The second position is occupied by Norway - it is one of the most prosperous countries in the world, and 3/4 of the population say they have more positive experiences every day than negative ones.

The third place is assigned to Denmark. According to the researchers, one of the reasons Denmark is in the ranking of this position is that the country has an excellent balance between leisure and work.

This makes locals feel happy, and unemployment is very low. Last but not least, in Denmark all people are well educated, as education is free.
