Yogurt festival prepared in the Smolyan village of Momchilovtsi - a place that brought together the magic of the Rhodopes and centuries-old Bulgarian traditions.
The delicious celebration, dedicated to the cult of one of the most popular local culinary products, will take place between September 10th and 13th and will bring together gourmets from the country and abroad.
Yogurt produced in our country has been glorifying our country all over the world for many years. It is a source of health, longevity, youth and beauty. It is prepared according to recipes preserved over the centuries and has a rich taste.
In order to popularize the Bulgarian yogurt, as well as the native cheese, the idea for a Yogurt Festival in the village of Momchilovtsi was born.
Apart from extremely tasty dairy products, the event wants to introduce its guests to the traditions of the Rhodopes, the richness of song and dance folklore, the unique customs in this area and the authentic crafts.
That is why the organizers have prepared an interesting and diverse program that will appeal to both gourmets and connoisseurs of Bulgarian folk performances.
During the festival days, visitors will have the opportunity to try unique yogurts and cheeses and get acquainted with the recipes by which they are prepared.
Other culinary works will be presented to the guests, which are also typical for the settlements in the Rhodopes.
In addition, enthusiasts will be able to talk to herbalists, mushroom pickers and producers of honey and fruit jams from this area and of course explore the local sights and places full of positive energy. Talented performers will take care of the good mood of the audience.
The program of the Yogurt Festival in the village of Momchilovtsi also includes a Miss Rhodope contest, a photo exhibition with awards, a scientific seminar on: Properties and potential of probiotic lactic acid bacteria and a culinary show with the participation of Uti Bachvarov.
