When we talk about addictive foods, the association with tempting sweets immediately comes to mind. Come to think of it, however, the situation is similar with the wonderful toasted slices with butter or the bread pan.

If you feel that way, don't blame yourself - scientists have proven that this type of addiction is the result of addictive substances contained in these products, which act directly on the brain through the hormones of happiness. The bad thing is that a number of harmful foods from the leaves also contain these substances.

Scientists explain with regret that this type of addiction is not observed in foods rich in vitamins and minerals. So it's hard to get addicted to carrots, broccoli or spinach.

It has been proven that a packet of chips and even one or two sweets are able to trigger food "addiction". The usual culprits that make a person addicted are mainly sugar, salt and fat. This is because our bodies have not yet undergone the evolution they need to deal with the overly stimulating foods that the industry is vomiting.

In the recent past, sugar was a rarity. The jam was depleted of fruit, and the fat was used only in successful hunting. Nowadays, fast food and most processed foods in general contain sugar, salt and fat. They are often a combination of "everything and a lot", lacking useful fiber and natural vitamins and trace elements.

The fairer sex is more prone to food addiction. This is due to the many restrictions that a woman puts on herself until she attacks a certain type of food at some point. In this way, the brain becomes sensitive to certain substances and more prone to trigger an addictive process.

White bread is made from refined flour. In this way, much of the usefulness of the grain is lost during processing. At the same time, however, there are "fast" sugars left in it, to which the brain develops a strong attachment.

And since sugar is considered the most addictive, the case is identical to the addiction to sweets. When you overdo it with sugar, the body releases dopamine - the addictive amine.
