Initially, the new device was designed by Isabel Hoffman to combat the food allergies that her daughter suffers from. However, later it turned out that the device will benefit not only people with allergies, but also for such who need to keep track of exactly what they are eating because of the extra pounds they have gained.
The small electronic gadget will also be useful for people who prefer to know what they are buying and what exactly they are putting on their table. At this stage, the project of the two inventors is awaiting funding - to complete the device will require assistance in the amount of 100,000 dollars.
Canadian inventors hope that the device will be completed soon and many people will be able to use it.
Preliminary data indicate that the small gadgets that will connect to mobile phones will be ready and launched in mid-2014 - around August.
