Thanks to hundreds of acres of vegetable gardens, the monks in Kopilovtsi managed to build a remarkable temple named Annunciation.

For several years now, the clergy of the village have been taking care of wheat, growing potatoes, onions, peppers, tomatoes and orchards. They offer their harvest on the stock exchanges in the capital, and the saved funds go to the construction of the temple, Monitor writes.

We have a completely closed production cycle. We offer our production in Sofia, we have a stall in the Mladost district, the monks say.

In Žabljano, the brothers already have a dairy, where they raise about twenty cows and ninety sheep.

I can't comment on the price. Whoever comes to me, I always give him something. Some time ago, a mother said that our cheese was expensive. However, after he bought his child, his teeth stopped grinding. You will judge what quality products we are talking about, everything is real, says the abbot of the monastery, Grandpa Cassian.

Monks live separated from the world. They have no television, and their work day begins at 4:00 a.m. and ends when it gets dark. Large fields and the cultivation of all crops require a lot of work and perseverance. That is how in a few years God's people collected money for the construction of the unique type of temple.

With the funds received, the monks also take care of their greatest needs, which are quite modest, as they live as true ascetics.

The money is mainly used to modernize the technical park. We buy salt, sugar and sometimes oil, say hard-working men, for whom the only worldly gain is electricity.

The gardens of the erected temple of God are also used for growing crops. Beans, potatoes and corn are sown there. Greenhouses for vegetables have also been made. The brothers are interested in European programs. They have already applied for the Young Farmer program, they have also declared lands under the SER.

In the area of Kopilovtsi, the monks also grow plantations with potatoes. This year they have cultivated a total of 90 acres and hope that the harvest will be of excellent quality.
