Fruits and vegetables predominate in the vegetable diet, and almost all animal products known to us are absent. In addition to their high content of vitamins, minerals and other trace elements, fruits and vegetables have a number of other useful properties.

Natural products from nature, a basic element of the diet, create an alkaline - basic environment in the body. This significantly strengthens the bone tissue, as the acids extract calcium from the bones, while the bases neutralize the properties of the acids.

In addition to having a slimming effect, the diet is also used due to its cleansing and restorative properties.

The main rule in the diet is that the fruits and vegetables consumed are fresh and have not undergone heat treatment. The resulting change in daily portions should not be abrupt. It should be achieved gradually, without sudden jumps. The diet has two options:

Strict option

The total amount of fruits and vegetables consumed should not exceed 1.5 kg. Cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, apples, peppers, broccoli, spinach, beets, leeks, peas, beans, celery, zucchini, pumpkin, 100 g of wholemeal bread and 40 g of sugar are allowed for tea.

It is allowed to prepare salads or light dishes seasoned with vegetable fat. Twice a week is allowed the consumption of dairy products: milk, cottage cheese, yogurt and kefir.

Sample day menu:

Breakfast: Salad of grated carrots, oatmeal and skim yogurt;

10 a.m.: 1 cucumber;

Lunch: Vegetable salad and 2 boiled potatoes, seasoned with vegetable fat, a slice of rye bread;

4 pm: red pepper;

Dinner: vegetable salad with vegetable fat.

Allowed alkaline foods: Apples, raisins, bananas, grapefruit, dried dates, dried apricots, pineapple, oranges, nectarines, blackcurrants, melons, quinces, blueberries; broccoli, carrots, cabbage, celery, turnips, zucchini, squash, mushrooms, eggplant, cauliflower.

Local products, such as beef, lamb, chicken and rabbit, can also be included in the light regime.

Other permitted alkaline products are: millet, buckwheat, olive oil, sprouted seeds, almonds, honey, chestnuts, cream, ice cream and jam.

There are several rules to follow:

80% alkaline foods and 20% acidic foods are consumed during the diet. Cereals should not be consumed more than 3 times a week. Vegetables are eaten raw or cooked.

It is good to eat one yellow and one green vegetable for breakfast. If you cook, do it only with olive oil. Meat is eaten no more than 1-2 times a week. Do not eat anything after 18-19 hours. Drink plenty of water, fruit juices and herbal teas.
