The stands for fresh salads and sandwiches push us fake eggs. Think about this fact the next time you decide to have a ready-made salad or eat your favorite sandwich at one of the big food chains or gas stations.
It turns out that instead of boiled hen eggs, artificial substitutes known in the industry as egg yolk.
This egg sausage is a by-product containing sodium hydroxide, water, gelatin, sodium benzoate, lactone, carboxymethyl cellulose, calcium carbide, lysine, colorants, calcium chloride, paraffin and even gypsum.
As many may guess, the relative of the opposite substitute is none other than China, from where domestic traders import it literally per kilogram.
They use it widely for two reasons. On the one hand, egg salami is many times cheaper than the use of ordinary, Bulgarian, boiled eggs.
On the other hand, it has a regular cylindrical shape and when it is cut, it gives regular round slices, unlike the imperfect slices obtained by cutting ordinary chicken eggs.
Despite its perfect appearance and taste similarity, however, egg salami is far from a natural product, it is full of harmful synthetics.
It is even more frightening that traders are massively investing it in the food they offer, without mentioning it anywhere. On the contrary, they offer their customers a green salad with an egg or a sandwich with an egg, thus misleading them.
Despite the widespread presence of these products in the commercial network and ultimately on the table of the average family, there is no information about their exact content, shelf life, storage temperature or degree of heat treatment.
Fake eggs in the form of egg sausages have been present on the American market for years, where they are fought against.
According to acquaintances, one variety of the so-called fake eggs are egg sausages, which are the cheapest possible option. In addition, there are artificial eggs that look like ordinary eggs - raw and shelled, but traded twice as cheap as them.
Then how can you distinguish the real product from its synthetic analogue. Before ordering a green salad with an egg for home, pay attention to the shape of the egg slices.
When they have the same "perfect" shape and their colors are too bright, most likely your salad is garnished with egg salad. The counterfeit also has a firmer and more porous texture and taste reminiscent of plastic.
