A Japanese company launched bananas, whose rind can be eaten, as it is softer than that of ordinary exotic fruits. The bananas are called Monge and their patent is owned by D&T Farm.

Translated from Japanese, Monge means amazing, and the scientists who created this species say that the word accurately describes their work. Monge is the work of a research company specializing in the production of agricultural products.

The method was developed by planting a banana tree at an initial temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. Then the root is grafted into even warmer soil, writes the British Metro.

The sharp temperature change transforms the peel of the banana, it becomes very thin and can be consumed. The thinness of the rind is like a lettuce leaf, which makes it easy to eat.

Experts add that banana peel contains larger amounts of vitamin B6 and magnesium, which is why its consumption would be very beneficial to health.

Bananas of the Monge type are sweeter than ordinary bananas, but also more expensive - one of them costs 4 British pounds.

At the moment, this exotic fruit can be bought only in Okayama, Western Japan, and their quantity is limited - no more than 10 pieces are offered per week.
