More and more often from all over the world in our stores come exotic fruits and vegetables that we have not even heard of. Such is the case with bok choy.
This is not a kind of martial art, but fresh Chinese cabbage, tender and crunchy. It is most often used to prepare typical Chinese dishes. See some in the following lines delicious dishes with bok choy:
Bok choy with sesame seeds
Necessary products: 500 g side choy (washed and halved), 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, 1-2 tablespoons oil or olive oil, 3-4 cloves garlic, finely chopped, 1 tablespoon ginger root, peeled and finely chopped, 3 green onions, cut into small pieces, 2 tbsp. rice vinegar, 1 and ½ tbsp soy sauce, 2 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp sugar.
Method of preparation: Roast the sesame seeds for 2-3 minutes in a pan with a non-stick coating. Remove from the pan.
Heat 1 tbsp in the pan. oil. Put the cabbage stalks in a row, with the cut at the bottom. Stew for 2 minutes and turn. Stew for another 2 minutes and remove from the pan. The vinegar is mixed with soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar.
Heat the remaining fat in the pan. Pour garlic, ginger and green onions into it. Stew for 1-2 minutes. Add the mixture of vinegar and soy sauce. Cook over high heat until the mixture begins to thicken, about 1 minute.
To the resulting add the halves of cabbage with the cut side down. Cook until covered with the glaze, about half a minute, turn and cook for another half a minute. Place the pieces of cabbage in a large plate, sprinkle with stewed garlic, ginger and onion and sesame seeds.
Roasted brittle Bok Choi leaves
Necessary products: 450 g bok choy, 2 tbsp. pure olive oil, half a teaspoon sea salt, 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper.
Method of preparation: The oven is heated to 200 degrees. Bok choy is washed well and dried with a towel.
Bok choy is sprinkled with olive oil, salt and pepper. Stir with your hands until you cover all the parts evenly.
Leaves bok choy line up on baking paper so that they do not touch. Bake for 7-10 minutes.
Fish with rice and bok choy
Necessary products: 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. sesame oil, 3 cloves garlic, crushed, 3 tbsp. fish sauce, 150 g of catfish fillets (or other freshwater fish), cut into pieces, 4 stalks of green onions, cut into pieces, 2 heads of Chinese cabbage, baby bok choy, ground black pepper, coarsely chopped coriander.
Method of preparation: Mix the sugar with 1 tbsp. water in a pot or ceramic vessel. Boil over high heat until caramel in color. Add the oil and garlic. Cook for about a minute. Then add the fish sauce and 1/2 tsp. Hot water.
The catfish pieces are placed in the resulting mixture. They cover nicely. The casserole is closed and the fire is reduced to medium. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
The lid opens. Add the cabbage and cover again. Increase the heat and cook for 5 minutes. In the same way, add the green onions on top, leaving them to cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
The delicious dish with bok choy garnish with coriander and serve with stewed rice or baguette.
