From time immemorial, Bulgarians like to eat stews with meatballs, but usually consume them in the same way. That is why it is good to learn how to prepare other stews with meatballs, which are both very tasty and easy to make. We offer you 3 options with which you will effortlessly diversify your menu:
Eggplant stew with meatballs
Necessary products: 500 g ground beef, 1 onion, 2 slices of white bread, 1 egg, a few sprigs of parsley, 2 eggplants, 4 tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste, oval flour and frying oil
Method of preparation: The minced meat is mixed with finely chopped onion and parsley, egg, pre-soaked in water slices of bread and seasoned with salt and pepper. Allow to stand for at least about an hour to absorb the aromas. Then small meatballs are kneaded from it, which are rolled in flour and fried in oil. Separately, the aubergines are baked, peeled and shredded. Fry together with the grated tomatoes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and black pepper and put the finished meatballs in it.
Vegetable stew with meatballs
Necessary products: 500 g seasoned minced pork, 1 red onion, 2 carrots, 1 green pepper, 1 red pepper, 1 bay leaf, a few grains of black pepper, 1 tbsp flour, 1 tbsp red pepper, 1 tbsp. flour for sauce, salt to taste, flour for rolling meatballs, 5 tablespoons oil, a few sprigs of parsley
Method of preparation: Heat oil in a saucepan and fry the chopped onions, carrots and peppers in it. Carefully add the flour and red pepper diluted in water, stirring constantly. Add enough water to make the required sauce, bay leaf, peppercorns and salt.
Meatballs are formed from the minced meat, which are rolled in flour and dropped into the water. If necessary, add more. Once all the products are ready, sprinkle the dish with finely chopped parsley.
Mushroom stew with meatballs
Necessary products: 700 g minced beef, 500 g mushrooms, 70 g butter, 1 tbsp flour, a few sprigs of dill, salt and pepper to taste.
Method of preparation: The mushrooms are finely chopped and stewed in butter. Add the flour diluted in water to make a sauce. Season with finely chopped dill, salt and pepper to taste and put the pre-fried meatballs in it.
