There has been a lot of talk lately about which are the superfoods that a person should consume regularly. However, many experts point to such imported products, which even if they can be found on the Bulgarian market are of unclear quality or are too expensive.
And in fact they forget to mention those native products that can be found not only in stores but also in nature around us. That is why here we will list some superfoods that are not only very useful, but also available on the Bulgarian market:
1. Blueberries and grapes
They contain pterostilbene, which lowers blood cholesterol and triglycerides and fights cancer. In addition, blueberries and grapes have many antioxidants;
2. Fish
Although most nutritionists advise avoiding the consumption of oily fish, it is high in omega-3 fatty acids. So if you consume about 500 g of fish per week (mackerel, tuna, salmon, herring) you will reduce the risk of heart disease up to 3 times;
3. Berries
In this case, it is not about the strawberries, which are sold almost all year round in plates and are of very unclear origin, but about the real home-grown Bulgarian strawberries. They are very rich in antioxidants, reduce systolic blood pressure and increase folic acid in the body. Eat at least 10 strawberries a day;
4. Walnuts, garlic and honey
Well-known products on the Bulgarian market. The former have fish-like properties, and garlic and honey are among the most powerful immunostimulants. So eat 2 cloves of garlic a day and sweeten your life with honey;
5. Pumpkin
It is high in calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and vitamins B, C, D and E;
6. Tomatoes
There is no vegetable garden without tomatoes, namely they are among the richest products that contain lycopene - an antioxidant that reduces the risk of heart attack.
7. Cabbage
A good source of B vitamins and folic acid;
8. Mushrooms
They are a source of antioxidants that strengthen the immune system.
