They found dangerous pesticides in vegetables sold on the Bulgarian market. This became clear after laboratory analyzes of randomly selected products initiated by bTV.

Tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers purchased from a market in Plovdiv were provided for expert analysis to determine the presence of over 370 pesticides. It turned out that peppers imported from Turkey contain four types of pesticides. The reassuring news is that three of them are normal. The concern comes from the highly toxic pesticide methomyl, which was twice as high.

Laboratory experts warn that eating vegetables that contain methomyl can be very dangerous, especially for young children or the elderly.

Pesticides have also been found in Turkish tomatoes. However, they did not exceed the permissible norms. However, this finding can hardly be accepted positively, because in Germany, for example, in such a situation, these tomatoes will not be in the commercial network at all, commented the head of the laboratory Martin Zabrov, quoted by bTV.

There are also pesticides in cucumbers sold on the Bulgarian market.

The downside is that until the authorities confirm the alarming results, traders can legally and undisturbedly continue to sell unhealthy products.

Pesticides are poisonous chemical compounds specially created by humans to control pests. When large amounts of them enter the body, acute poisoning occurs, which can sometimes end in death.

Chronic effects of pesticides are reduced immune protection, allergic reactions, diabetes and others.

The worst thing is that pesticides can work imperceptibly in extremely low concentrations. It can take years between their effects and the actual disease.

Every year, more than 77,000 new cases of various diseases are discovered in the world, which are due to the effects of pesticides.
