These field herbs were laid in the manger, where they became his bed. Since then, they have carried God's power and given it to people. That is why these special herbs are present at the Christmas table of many nations.
Rosemary is associated with a legend about the Virgin Mary, according to which, the colors of the herb changed from white to blue after she put her clothes on them. For this reason, blue is the traditional color that the church associates with the Virgin Mary. According to another legend, she put Jesus' clothes on him, and on the night of his birth the herb was covered with flowers and fruit, although it was not time for it to bloom. According to other legends, the clothes of the newborn Jesus were placed to dry on a lavender bush and then the lavender got its wonderful aroma and began to bloom. She became a symbol of purity, innocence and immortality. According to another legend, the Virgin Mary washed her clothes with it and put the washed clothes to dry on the fragrant herb. So her clothes turned blue, thanks to the touch of lavender.

When Joseph and the Virgin Mary fled from Judea to the Virgin Mary, she turned for help to hide her in a rose and a carnation bush growing nearby, but they refused. The only bush that sheltered the Mother of God, the infant, and Joseph was Salvia. She covered herself with numerous colors to hide the persecuted. Herod's soldiers passed by without seeing them. Therefore, sage is considered a sacred herb with numerous and enormous healing properties.
