English cuisine is not very well known in our country. What makes her popular are mostly two things - drinking tea in the afternoon and more recently with our favorite muffins. In fact, its great popularity is mainly due to the fact that it is quite susceptible to foreign influences. But although not so common and well-known, there are exceptional specialties in English cuisine. It is mostly distinguished by the simplicity of its dishes and the quality products used in it.
The English breakfast has become a nickname for a nutritious meal. It contains many eggs - scrambled, omelet, boiled or fried, fried bacon or baked sausages, bread. For sweetening most often jam, and for drinking tea or orange juice. And as if that wasn't enough, the British added fruit to it all.
Lunch is considered lighter - they eat a salad or some kind of sandwich. It's time for afternoon tea or the so-called 5 o`clock. Of course, it also comes with something to eat - biscuits, muffins or some small sweets.
Then comes the time of dinner - it is also quite high in calories and nutritious, as it turns out, and the whole menu of the British. The last meal of the day must include some meat.
The meats that are most common in England are mutton and beef - they are used to make many different dishes, most often roasted or in soup. Traditional dishes there are beef roast beef and steak. In addition, the British like to put sauce on roast meats - the most popular are Worcestershire, Tabasco and Cumberland sauce.
One of the most popular recipes for a main course is with mutton leg in addition to raisin jelly. A favorite part of the English menu are also wild birds, turkeys and fish.
All kinds of pasta delicacies are also traditional for the English cuisine - most of all they love salty muffins. They put sausages and cheeses in them - they make them small and cute in the form of mini cupcakes, which one can eat with tea in the afternoon.
And despite the fact that they are real meat lovers, in England they eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. They have an extremely rich and caloric menu every day. Vegetables are most often eaten stewed or cooked in the form of salads.
As for desserts, pastries predominate. We have already mentioned the muffins, but in addition to their salty versions, sweet cupcakes are also prepared - with different jams, chocolate, etc. Another popular dessert are English rolls, which are called "scones", different types of jellies, pudding.
Extremely high-calorie cuisine - there are snacks all the time and in fact your stomach is almost empty. But in case you get hungry, you can continue with the English diet and eat chips.
