A new, revolutionary discovery by scientists from the Maritsa Institute of Vegetable Crops in Plovdiv is now available to everyone. This is a new variety of orange-yellow tomatoes with high beta-carotene content.

Beta-carotene is a plant pigment that, when accumulated in the liver, is converted into vitamin A. It is one of the most powerful natural antioxidants. Until recently, fans of healthy eating could get it mainly from carrots or spinach.

The disadvantage of these products is that in addition to beta-carotene, these products easily accumulate nitrates.

"Plovdiv Carotene" tomatoes combine the characteristic taste properties of Bulgarian tomatoes and increased content of antioxidants such as carotene and lycopene. Unlike carrots and spinach, they do not accumulate nitrates, which makes them extremely suitable for consumption by babies and children.

One glass of juice from these tomatoes is enough to cover half of an adult's daily needs for vitamin A and vitamin C. Tomato juice is extremely useful for the stomach and gastrointestinal tract, because it has the ability to dissolve animal fats.

In this way it protects the arteries from the accumulation of slag and reduces the risk of cancer. Some scientists even claim that it can protect against osteoporosis.

Except for direct consumption, Bulgarian orange-yellow tomatoes can be easily dried or frozen without worrying that they may lose their valuable properties.
