Every year on September 14, the world celebrates International Bacon Day. Studies show that bacon is the third most consumed meat delicacy.
Bacon is prepared entirely from pork, processed from the back or belly of a pig, whose age is not more than 6-7 years.
In the United States alone, about 110 million bacon pigs are slaughtered. Some countries prefer to enhance the taste of the delicacy with salted water.
In other countries, they stick to its red hue and treat the meat with sodium nitrite.
There are 10 types of bacon known in the world, and the difference between them is only in the cut through which they are obtained.
The nation that most often eats the delicacy are the Americans, who eat 18 tons of it each year, but bacon in its purest form is produced in Ireland and Britain.
Bacon contains large amounts of amino acids, which makes it an ideal remedy for hangovers. Its consumption restores neurotransmitters, which are depleted during alcohol consumption.
In 1920, the scent of bacon became the inspiration for a perfume company, which decided to combine its characteristic aroma with 11 essential oils and create a unique perfume.
As incredible as it sounds, bacon can also be used as a toothpaste. In the past, when dental floss was not yet made, people ate bacon to make their teeth cleaner.
Today, this method has stimulated the creation of toothpaste and floss with a taste of meat delicacy.
Although bacon is undoubtedly one of the most delicious delicacies, doctors advise not to overdo it, as it can cause an increase in bad cholesterol in the blood.
It is enough to eat bacon only once a week to extract only what is useful for your body.
